Great little place. Had the Kir which was nice, sitting outside by the side of the river. Perfect way to start a summer evening in Paris!

Very nice old-style brasserie, serving mainly local people working in the area rather than tourists. Small seating area but well worth a visit for good food at reasonable (for central Paris) prices. Unexpectedly friendly and helpful staff too.

What a surprise find at L'escale! Despite my unplanned stop due to a scooter breakdown, I was met with efficient service and a charming ambiance that felt like stepping back 60 years in time! Don't be put off by the retro decor; it adds to the unique atmosphere. While I only had time for a quick tea break, I'm already planning my return for a sunny lunch. If you're up for an unexpected adventure and a break from the hustle of the city, give L'escale a try. Plus, the view of Paris is simply stunning!

Very friendly and professional staff. Great food, great wine and a great view, from the most famous “city island” in the world, “Ile St Louis”. You can see the river Seine and Notre Damme during a sunset, while you sip your wine (during warmer days).

Sure the food took a little bit longer than some other places, but we didn’t mind having the extra time to sit by the river in the beautiful morning sun and watch the boats go by! I wish I could go back!

A lovely spot for a second coffee as wander around Paris. A unique island coffee bar inside, on a unique island! Several locals inside enjoying coffee whilst reading or chatting at the brass topped bar with the manager who serves delicious espresso.
